Aquaponics is a sustainable food production system that combines a traditional aquaculture (raising aquatic animalssuch as snails, fish, crayfish or prawns in tanks) with hydroponics (cultivating plants in water) in a symbiotic environment. ReNEW New York is a coalition of enviro groups which hosts events about renewable energy. Our focus is to replace the development of fossil fuels, especially fracked shale gas, with wind, water and solar power. A monthly series of panel discussions explores topics related to sustainable energy and urban living.
