Meet people in the Silicon Valley Area interested in building a green home or making their homes environmentally friendly. Discuss green construction, remodeling, maintenance, furnishing, and other related issues! Green building increases the efficiency with which buildings use resources — energy, water, and materials — while reducing building impacts on human health and the environment during the building's lifecycle, through better siting, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and remo …
Waste vegetable oil costs cities millions per year of repairs to sewer lines and treatment plants. It should be used as a fuel and many existing cars, trucks and vans can use it. It is very cheap and it does not produce the carcinogens nor foul smells of other transportation fuels. It is safer than gasoline and diesel. If from the right sources, it can be totally carbon neutral. It is cheaper than gas or diesel.

Environmental design, landscape, and horticulture/agriculture issues will continue to be a growing field! I'm seeking members who want to balance both practice and theory to engage in meaningful projects that either build our skills, or make a profit. I believe this approach is the best way for communities to prosper. A good way to achieve this would be to use environmental design programs, such as Foothill and UC Berkeley as templates. Here are some careers that these programs influence; Arbori …
This group was created for gardeners in the Fremont-Union City-Newark (FUCN) area but gardeners from other areas are welcome to join as well. The group will meet to talk about FUCN gardening, give each other FUCN advice, and help each other with FUCN projects. There may also be trips to FUCN garden events or attractions. There will not be a set FUCN schedule until the group reaches critical mass. If you are interested in hosting a FUCN meetup, feel free to suggest one.

We are a group that meets on the first Sunday of Every month. Our main purposes are to explore alternative economies, divert unnecessary landfill waste, connect with our neighbors, and have fun doing it! We are like freecycle.org, but at a Location! As a community we have many more resources than we do as individuals. If we share our resources we won't need to buy as many new ones. This uses fewer of the Earth's resources, and fewer of our working hours, leaving us more time to devote to ourselv …

We hold and support many activities along the lines of Green Culture, Permaculture, Free Culture, and are working on establishing a community center to pursue the transition from today's "Silicon Valley" to tomorrow's Green Tek Valley. Translating the Transition Town and Occupy movements into sustainable reality in the San Jose Metro area. Since 1992 HeartBeat Earth has been "occupying" Santa Clara County with actions on local environmental, quality of life and positive spirituality issues.
