“ I look like I do in my picture ”
Spend the afternoon with Darryl Berlin, expert in do-it-yourself green building and mud guru. Berlin is the co-founder of Emerald Earth, an intentional community in Mendocino County, California, who regularly leads workshops on green building techniques such as hay-bale houses and solar-powered mud buildings.
In honor of Earth Day, Berlin is spending this week at Goucher College as a visiting professor. He will be leading Goucher students and members of the community as they create a campus garden and build a hay bale house from scratch on the Goucher campus.
We'll hear a brief presentation from Berlin as we survey the students' work and learn about some of the methods used during construction. Then, those who are interested can help build a prototype green house as the culmination of this week-long exercise.
If you want to join the work, wear work clothes and be prepared to get muddy.

We'll post a specific location at Goucher where we'll be meeting later this week. Hope to see you there.
