Where is our food grown? How far does each bite travel? What does local food do for local economics? What local companies are around to eat and shop at? What is "Slow Food" and where does it fit into this debate?

Let's get together at one local coffee shop that's attempting to use local foods and talk about these issues and more.

With so much written on the topic, we can also spend sometime disucssing the research being done and the movement growing around us. Titles such as "eat Here" and "Omnivores Delimna" will come to the table with us.

“Just joined the group myself. I started growing vegetables two years ago and am still getting the hang of it. I'd love to hear about the juicing. Looking for ways to enjoy what I grow throughout the year. I am looking to learn more about canning and freezing as well. Looking forward to participating in this group. Any info appreciated, thanks!”

“I am into juicing and grow my own vegetables to try to last for a year of juicing. This group seemed appropriate because I believe it is imperative to be sustainable.”
