Intentional Communities Dialogue Group

For the second gathering of our new Intentional Communities Dialogue Group, we are pleased to have an honored speaker, Dr. Patty Stephens, who attended the first of our sessions.
Intentional Communities work to the extent that members are willing to do the work it takes to learn how to be fully responsible for themselves and their relationship to the group. Clear common goals and communication is key. Dr. Stephens will explore with us three of the fatal flaws in community building and their antidotes.
Patty Stephens draws years of experience in developing people?s skill in discovering their common good and managing differences in the personal, organizational, community arenas. Patty has an interdisciplinary education from the University of Texas: a Doctorate in Philosophy, specializing in Adult Learning and Human Resource Development, a Master?s Degree in Social Work and a Honors Liberal Arts B.A Degree. Currently in private practice, she consults with organizations on Board and Leadership Development. She also leads groups and individuals seeking increased life effectiveness and mental health. Mel Riser (+3 guests)“ DR. Patty Stephens gave a very effective workshop on group consensus, vision and decision making. We broke into working groups based on Urban, Rural, Spiritual, Nutrition and Building materials. Each group had to write a vision statement and make a presentation on their ideas, and community. we were given 20 minutes for this exercise. Dr. Stephens is an amazing speaker that has profound insight and years of experience at teaching people these necessary group skills. ” -
